- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪At 84. I was reluctant to have knee replacement surgery. When the new Bone and Joint facility at Hartford Hospital opened, I decided to go ahead. After reading biographies of some of the doctors who practiced at Orthopedic Associates and then asking around, I chose Dr. J. Burns. He met all my expectations. From the first visit, I felt confident that he was a competent orthopedic surgeon. I am happy to say that my leg is straight and I no longer suffer discomfort. I took it to heart when I was told that p.t. before and after the surgery was very important for the success of the surgery.
